Use Your Dollars to Fight Breast Cancer
Townsend, Ma - It is the number one threat to women. Statistically speaking, if you do not contract breast cancer, chances are, a woman you know will be effected. According to the Breast Cancer Information Service, one in eight women will develop breast cancer during her lifetime. Not very good odds!
Many companies catering to female consumers have created programs to help fund research. Unfortunately, many of these programs are not widely known. To address this dilemma, Catie Hayes, founder of WomanLinks.com, a community for women, has compiled a list of companies and programs on site at http://www.WomanLinks.com/breastcancerawareness.shtml . Hayes felt this information was critical because "rather than sit back and wait for a cure, women can protect themselves and each other by joining the fight."
Driven by personal experience within her own family as well as members of the WomanLinks.com community, Hayes launched this page in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. "Until a cure is found, this page will remain up, however", states Hayes, "every woman can make a statement as a consumer as well as an at-risk candidate that Breast Cancer is a crisis that must be addressed."
Hayes welcomes submissions of additional resources related to fighting Breast Cancer. Send them to webmaster@WomanLinks.com.
