I may feel disgraceful As though the Lord would not want to look upon me But my Lord's thoughts of me-- All precious And too numerous to count In his eyes, I am decked with precious jewels My Lord looks upon me with so much love He awaits his return To speak in my ears-- "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away." * I may feel like a worthless failure But I am my Lord's precious garden He waters, cares and prunes And anxiously waits for a new bloom to appear I am beautiful to my Lord! My feet may slip And I may wish to hide from my Lord But he knocks upon my heart saying "Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled." * I may feel unattractive But when my Lord looks upon me He is awestruck with the beauty he sees He doesn't look upon me as worthless He is just patiently waiting for new blooms in his garden And when I've fallen and hidden away He cries out for me: "Return, return, O Shulamite; return, return that we may look upon thee." * I may feel too disgraceful to be looked upon But this is what my Lord says to me "How fair and how pleasant art thou, O love, for delights!" * "I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me." He doesn't wait for me to fail To laugh and accuse I am my Lord's precious garden He waters, cares, and prunes And anxiously waits for a new bloom to appear I am beautiful to my Lord
